Well, there have been many things over the last few months that have pulled Bruce and I closer and closer to the idea of adopting internationally. Actually, it took us about 1 week to decide that YES, this is exactly what we are suppose to do....what God intends for us to do. There are several things that stand in our way, that would give us logical excuses for NOT doing what we know we are suppose to do. The first one is money...wow! What a daunting cost. Human nature would tell us to wait and save. Well, to save up for something like this would take us several years. We are aging, people! But even more importantly, there is some little person out there waiting for us! So....we step out in faith. I know if I am suppose to do this, then it will work out in God's time. In fact, we're already seeing His hand at work.
Shortly after we made our decision, we submitted our tax information to our friend, "the tax guy." I started praying...keep in mind that we own a business. We have NEVER gotten a tax refund in the history of our business. I told Bruce, "wouldn't it be amazing if we got a tax return and it were exactly the amount needed for our home study"...the first step of the entire process. Well, guess what?!?!? Our tax return, YES, we are getting a refund!...it's not just enough for the home study, it's actually enough for the application fee & fee for the first piece of legal paperwork as well....AMAZING!!
